Nurses are grateful and amazed

Krebsallianz has donated valuable breast cancer medicines and cortisone containing drugs of German manufacturers to Moldova. The donation caused surprise and excitement.

„I saw nurses who were speechless with amazement as they were so enthusiastic about the medicines for their hospitals“ said Vladimir Cerbov of  „Coram Deo“, the Moldovian partner organization of Krebsallianz.

Free medicines for Europe’s poor house

There is a reason for this excitement: Moldova is one of the poorest countries in Europe. The health system is totally inadequate. The patients have to cover most of the cost of their treatments themselves. In a country where every second inhabitant earns less than a Euro a day, this is almost impossible. Therefore the supply of for free medicines is crucial – especially for patients with heavy and chronic diseases like cancer, which need long-term treatment.

Help for hundreds of cancer patients

For 4 years Krebsallianz has been active in Moldova. It has provided hundreds of patients in hospitals (e.g. the Mother-child hospital and the National Cancer Institute in the capital Chisinau) with important drugs. A special concern for Krebsallianz in Moldova is also the support of children who suffer from hemophilia and who need specialized medicines, which are not available in the Moldovian hospitals.

„On behalf of our organisation I would like to thank all donors of Krebsallianz for their generous donations“ writes Vladimir Cerbov. “The response and the gratefulness are overwhelming”.
