Renewed Support for a Database Project on Individual Patient Experiences
Over the next two years, Krebsallianz will continue to support the Datenbankprojekt für Database Project for Individual Patient Experiences Germany (DIPEx, Individuelle Patient*innen-Erfahrungen Deutschland). The project, run by the Institute of Social Medicine and Epidemiology at the Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane, presents the experiences of people affected by cancer to help others going through similar things, and to help improve the health care system. The experiences of patients with chronic diseases are available online for people affected and their relatives, researchers, health care professionals and political decision makers. Since 2018, Krebsallianz has partnered with the Institute for Social Medicine and Epidemiology of the Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane, where the research is conducted.
Since its creation, the website ww.krankheitserfahrungen.de has become increasingly popular and continues to be an important source of information for those affected. The number and range of patient experiences made available has also increased, the website now includes e.g., Covid-19, chronic bowel disease and diabetes.
It is with great pleasure that Krebsallianz can continue to support DIPEx Germany so that they can maintain and update their research and the website.
